Six Month Smiles

Six Month Smiles

If you’re looking for a fast-acting and discreet way to have straighter teeth without a mouth full of metal ‘train track’ braces, then Six Month Smiles is for you. This orthodontic system uses tooth-coloured wires and clear brackets to straighten your teeth, so they are not as visible as traditional metal braces.

Six Month Smiles focuses on straightening only the teeth that show when you smile rather than all of your teeth (such as your back teeth), which means that instead of treatment taking 2-3 years, it can be completed in as little as six months.

Most of our patient’s teeth are straightened between 5-10 months, and every case differs. During a consultation, we can give you an approximate indication of timescales. Because the time taken is less than that of traditional comprehensive orthodontics, the cost of straightening your teeth is cheaper too.

Answer: 6 Month Smiles® braces uses white wires and clear brackets which are usually tooth-coloured and small to align your teeth. Treatment times usually fall within 4-9 months. Discomfort is minimal, as teeth are gently repositioned.

Answer: The 6 Month Smiles® technique employs the latest technology and techniques in dentistry to move your teeth quickly and safely using a brace that is attached to your teeth. The key components of the treatment are the use of special nickel titanium wires and a primary focus of moving the teeth that show when you smile.

Answer: No! 6 Month Smiles® dentists use tooth-coloured braces that are barely visible. The wires are usually tooth-coloured as well. These are nothing like metal braces!
Answer: There are no more risks of root damage or other issues than those associated with traditional orthodontics. Since the forces used with 6 Month Smiles® braces are lighter and teeth are seldom extracted, there are actually even fewer risks involved with 6 Month Smiles® orthodontics.
Answer: Yes, as with any teeth-straightening treatment a retainer is necessary to maintain the straighter position of your teeth. If you don’t want to wear a removable retainer, you can have a bonded retainer placed. There are a variety of options that you can choose from according to your personal preference and situation.

Reviews

“I’ve just finished Orthodontics treatment with Kish at Edward Byrne, and I cannot recommend them enough. I’m not the biggest fan of dentists due to a traumatic childhood experience. However, Kish made me feel instantly relaxed and listened to. He worked out a fantastic treatment plan, and I’m so pleased with the results.

“Edward Byrne has the best staff who has helped me through my entire Invisalign treatment; I was made aware of each step and what was being done during each visit. They were only a phone call away when I had a question or needed to reschedule an appointment. The practice is immaculate and well kept; I highly recommend their services to anyone and everyone.”
