Dentures with Permanent Base Plates :

There is a Swedish proverb: " Egna tänder biter bäst " which translates: " Own teeth bite best. "
As a preventive orientated practice we endorse this 100%. However, not everyone will keep their teeth all their life.
For those people who have lost all their teeth, dentures constructed on permanent base plates will bite next best !

There is more work involved in this type of denture, but they have a number of advantages :

  • The bite can be recorded more precisely.
  • During construction, the dentist can assess function more accurately and implement adjustments accordingly .
  • At the 'Try in' appointment, the patient has a much more realistic 'feel' for the new dentures.
  • The dentures are routinely put back on the Articulator (artificial jaw) after processing for fine adjustment and perfection of function.

Please Note :-

Dentures constructed on Permanent Base Plates are not suitable for people with very small mouths where there may not be enough vertical heigth in the mouth to accomodate the technique.

Due to the additional time that this technique takes, we are limited in the number of these that we can construct each year.
